We want to update the membership on the cybersecurity breach which happened in November of 2024. Members will recall this resulted, in part, compromised the distribution system resulting in shortages in the stores.
In an April 17 story in The Record, a company spokesperson noted: “The investigation remains ongoing with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts. If we determine that personal data was impacted, we will notify affected individuals as appropriate.”
On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Ahold USA Services released an update on the compromised information: “Given the nature of the file repository the files that may have been affected contained different types of personal information such as name, contact information (for example, postal, email address and telephone number), date of birth, government-issued ID numbers (for example, SS, Passport and Drivers License numbers), financial account information (for example, for example, bank account numbers), health information (for example, workers compensation information and medical information contained in employment records), and employment related information. The types may vary by individual.”
Those affected individuals who have been identified will receive a mailing in the regular mail and/or an email notice if one is on record. This mailing contains steps to take to safeguard your wellbeing.
