UFCW Local 1459 Announces the 2023 Scholarship Winners

Our congratulations go to this year’s seniors for being selected as the 2023 UFCW Local 1459 Scholarship Fund Recipients. They have been awarded a grant from among many students who applied for this scholarship.

Jordan Allembert

Jordan is the son of Local 1459 member Robert Allembert, who works at Brattleboro Food Co-Op in Vermont. He graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 2023 and will be attending Bentley University. Jordan will major in Business Administration.

Gabrielle Hogan

Gabrielle is the daughter of Local 1459 member Michelle Hogan, who works in the Chicopee Public Schools Cafeteria. She graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 2022 and is attending the University of Hartford. Gabrielle is currently enrolled in the 7 year Physical Therapy program working on her bachelors degree in exercise science and a doctorate degree in physical therapy.

Theodore Hartling

Theodore is the son of Local 1459 member Michael Hartling, who works for the City of Chicopee. He graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 2023 and will be attending the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Theodore will major in Computer Science and plans on becoming a software engineer.

Aaron Stasiowski

Aaron is the son of Local 1459 member Jennifer Stasiowski, who works for Stop & Shop. He graduated from Ludlow High School in 2022 and is attending the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Aaron is majoring in Physics.

Julia Colson

Julia is the daughter of Local 1459 member Ray Colson, who works for LPVEC. She graduated from Ludlow Senior High School in 2023 and will be attending the University of Miami. Julia’s goal is to obtain a degree in forensic science and work for the FBI.


Everyone should be very proud to have won this most prestigious Union honor, since recipients of this scholarship must exemplify academic excellence, scholastic achievement and pride in UFCW Local 1459.

Certainly, we at UFCW Local 1459 are proud to be part of ensuring that talent, motivation, intellectual excellence and union pride are duly rewarded. We know that no matter which institution of higher learning that these recipients graduate from, they will always remember that a Union helped them achieve their academic goals. Thus, we wish them the very best of fortune in their future endeavors and once again, we congratulate them on being exemplary scholars!
