The UFCW is the largest representative of cannabis workers, representing tens of thousands of cannabis workers across multiple states. UFCW members in the legal cannabis industry work in growing and cultivating facilities, manufacturing and processing facilities, and also in laboratories and dispensaries.
By partnering with cannabis workers, patients, consumers, community allies, elected officials, and business owners, we can achieve the shared goals of creating an industry with family-sustaining jobs and a focus on social equity. Through these partnerships and worker organizing, we have been able to set high standards throughout the industry in our union contracts.
By coming together, cannabis workers have been able to secure strong agreements which raises wages, improve benefits and offers important workplace protections. Cannabis workers have been organizing with the UFCW out of love for their jobs, for their patients/customers and for each other so they can build a more equitable
future and have a strong voice within the industry.
The UFCW joins coalitions and advocacy groups that work for real change at all levels of policy and has been instrumental in working to advocate for the good jobs hardworking families deserve. We are proud to be a coalition partner in calling for racial, social, economic and worker justice surrounding the expansion of legalized cannabis.
Wherever cannabis is legalized, the UFCW is committed to building an equitable and just industry with a thriving, diverse and skilled workforce.
