On October 22nd, we were excited to be able to welcome our Steward’s to our annual Steward’s Seminar which was held at Oak Ridge Country Club. The day was packed with guest speakers educating our Stewards. Clare Hammonds from UMASS Labor Center spoke of the economy; Attorney Jared Akman of Akman & Associates informed the group about the Pre-Paid Legal benefit and Larry Fumarolo & Keri Nolan from the National Pension Fund presented and answered questions throughout the day. Jon Weissman from Mass Care Coalition addressed the group and Attorneys Charlie Casartello & Mike Cardaropoli reviewed things that happen and things to know. The Business Representatives presented plaques to their Steward of the Year – Congratulations to all of the recipients! The day ended with breakout groups where people were able to meet and learn from each other.
